Granting reviewer access
Pre-publication studies often start as private studies. To grant reviewers access to a private study, SCP has a "Reviewer Access" feature that enables publication reviewers limited access to your study (reviewers cannot download data or view the associated Terra workspace, but they can interact with any enabled visualizations).
NOTE: Due to current limitations with reviewer access in private studies, certain client-side visualizations will not function properly. This includes viewing any differential expression outputs, or rendering BAM files in IGV.

Setting up reviewer access for your study:
-
-
- Sign in to SCP and load your study using the accession URL from above
- Click into the Settings tab
- Near the bottom, you will find the Reviewer Access section. Select Yes under Access Enabled?, and then click the green Update Study Settings button at the bottom of the page:
- Once saved, you will now see information displayed under Current Access Credentials. Click the copy button to select and copy all of the relevant information to the clipboard (the PIN number is hidden, but will be shown briefly when the button is clicked):
- You can now paste this information into an email and send to your corresponding editor, who can provide it to any reviewers to access your study.
- When a reviewer uses the access URL, they will be taken to a page that will ask them to enter the PIN. Once entered, they will be redirected to your study and can being viewing. This review session will only last for 4 hours (or until they close their browser), at which point they will need to return to the access page and re-enter the PIN:

Other Reviewer Access features
Expiration date
All reviewer access will be automatically disabled for your study after the after the specified date (the default is 2 months). After this date (access is still enabled on the day itself), no reviewers will be able to access your study using the provided credentials. You can change this date at any time. This can be useful if you wish to temporarily "pause" reviewer access, but keep the credentials in-place.
Rotate credentials
This will create a new access URL & PIN code for your study, and invalidate the existing credentials. Any active reviewer sessions will also be terminated. This can be useful if new reviewers have been assigned by your editor, and you wish to revoke access for the previous reviewers.
Access enabled
You can disable all reviewer access at any time by selecting No. This will delete the credentials and terminate any active reviewer sessions. You can re-enable access at any time, but new access credentials will be generated - the previous access URL & PIN will no longer work.
