How to create an account

Step 1. Go to account sign in

At the portal's landing page, click "Sign in". Click here to visit the landing page.

Step 2. Click to create a new account

Select account. Select an existing Google account that is logged in or log in to an account.

Accept permissions. In this process, you will be made aware of a request to interact with Google billing and storage. This is due to the following functionality in the portal:

1. Billing. There is functionality in the portal which allows one to pay for their own storage (in cases where a consortium is working with the portal and providing a lot of data or where there is a study with really big files in it). In those cases, the portal has to set up billing through Google. When this occurs you will be aware because you will be a part of the process of setting up the billing. After this process, the portal is only aware of and only accesses the billing you have set up in the portal. Most portal scientists do not have to set up billing projects.
2. Storage. Every file in a study is stored in the cloud, so the portal has to interact with those things. We are not aware of and do not access things outside of portal studies/workspaces.

Step 3. Finished creating your account!
